I've had this problem for a couple days now. In the regular world and World vs. World, I can use my pet, no problems at all. As soon as I enter SPvP lobby and SPvP games, my pet is unavailable. When i press the blue arrow to activate my pet, nothing happens. When I press K to open the pet interface, nothing happens.
I merge with my pets primarily to use beast abilities and leave beast mode and summon my pet whenever they are down. The pet does more damage active than passively waiting for the beast abilities to come back up. Also, you can use the 4 second unblockable / stun break skill on entering beast mode by switching modes frequently.
